About the Glass Mazu Temple
Construction of the Glass Mazu Temple began in 2007. After years of assembly and structural safety testing, it was officially opened to visitors on March 31, 2012, following the enshrinement and consecration ceremony attended by the President of Taiwan.
Built to honor Mazu’s compassion and blessings, the temple combines Taiwan’s glassmaking expertise with cultural creativity, religious traditions, folk customs, traditional craftsmanship, digital technology, and ecological awareness. It aspires to become a spiritual home for the people of Taiwan and a landmark that supports cultural development and local prosperity. With this vision, Taiwan’s first—and the world’s first—Glass Mazu Temple was brought to life.
